Meet the Team: Jonathan Carroll

At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm, and while professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today, we’d like to introduce Jonathan Carroll, PetroLedger’s Marketing Manager. We sat down with our metaphorical man behind the curtain to get to know him a little better…

What is your role as the Marketing Manager of PetroLedger Financial Services?

The short answer: I get to shape the way people perceive our company. Websites, brochures, trade shows, presentations, social media, videos, newsletters— these are all tools I use to tell our story.

This last year has been an exciting ride. After merging The Resource Group and Eddye Dreyer Financial Services, we had a completely blank canvas. It was a great opportunity to redefine our entire brand identity, and that doesn't just mean changing our logo and color scheme. We've been able to explore who we want to be as a company, both for our clients and for each other.

How did you find yourself marketing for an oil and gas financial firm?

I spent over a decade in the commercial and non-profit art world, selling everything from classic pieces to mid-century and contemporary works. It was a phenomenal experience for me, but I eventually found myself looking for something different. When a friend of mine was tasked with creating a new sales and marketing team for what was then Eddye Dreyer Financial Services, I thought it would be a great opportunity to mix my creative eye and data nerdiness.

My most poignant take-away from my time as an art dealer was the power of narrative and the excitement of the buyer’s journey. Whether someone was simply adding another Renoir to their collection or taking the first step in replacing their store-bought art with original works, it was always a very personal experience.

Marketing oil and gas accounting services might not seem as glamorous, but it holds just as much personal significance : small E&P operators who entered the industry as geologists but found themselves stuck behind a spreadsheet can get back to doing what they love. CFOs of capital firms and managers of major gas plant operations can go home without any needling questions in the back of their minds and relax because they know our team has their backs.

What do you see for PetroLedger’s future?

It’s a thrilling time to be part of the PetroLedger Team.  We’re growing at an exponential rate— both internally and in market share— and there’s no limit to what our PetroLeaders can do. We have become a truly national brand, and we can’t wait to show our clients how our experience, value and scalability will only strengthen as we move forward.
