Meet the Team: Janet Cavanah

At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm, and while professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today we’d like to introduce Janet Cavanah, a Division Order Analyst for PetroLedger. We sat down with her to ask a few questions and get to know her a little better…

Can you tell me about your background?

My entire 30+ years in the oil and gas industry has been in Division Order, and I wouldn’t change to another department.  When I started, I was told that, if you get into oil and gas, you will have a job for life!  A lot has changed in Tulsa since then. I love to solve puzzles and assist owners, which is a good fit for the job.

What is your idea of a fun time?

My husband Bud and I love to travel, watch OU football games, and spend time with our 14 year old granddaughter, Sabrina. But the best fun time each year is Thanksgiving, when me, my seven siblings, and our families embark to my Dad’s house in Iowa. There are usually over 30 people in attendance and we have a blast; however, with one bathroom there always seems to be a line.

Where would you time-travel, if it were possible? Way back to the past? Far into the future?

I love the past!  I would love to live one day on the frontier, a day on a farm back in the early 1900’s  (my grandparents time) when they survived by selling their daily eggs and livestock to stay afloat, and a day when women wore dresses and men wore suits from morning to night.

What are your favorite songs from your teenage years that you still rock out to when nobody else is listening?

Anything Boston, Styx, REO Speedwagon and Foreigner. However, I have mellowed over the years and now prefer country.
