Meet the Team: Brenda Scrivner

At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm, and while professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today we’d like to introduce Brenda Scrivner, our Senior Manager of JIB/AP. We sat down with her to ask a few questions and get to know her a little better…

Can you tell me about your background?

I started my career in banking with First National Bank of Tulsa. I put myself through college while working full time and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from NSU. When my daughter was born in 1995, I took the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom for six years.

How did you get into the oil and gas industry?

When it was time for me to go back to work, I took a part time position with a small family- owned E&P company, and that was when I fell in love with the oil & gas industry.  Working with great people who shared their knowledge and training with me was a fantastic job experience.  In February 2011, I was given the opportunity to take a position with The Resource Group. TRG gave me the flexibility to continue driving my daughter to school, and as she got older, my hours increased and I took on more responsibilities.  I count it as a great blessing to now be part of the growing PetroLedger family.

Can you describe your specific role with PetroLedger?

As manager of AP/JIB, I work closely with a group of dedicated accountants to meet the individual needs of our clients. Timely check writes, accurate joint interest billing, advanced training, and relationship building are all part of our daily life. We work closely with the Account Managers to provide a high level of customer service to our clients.

What is the most satisfying aspect of providing outsourcing services to oil and gas customers?

We get the unique opportunity to interact with all aspects of the industry— both oil and gas pioneers and new ventures. Every day brings new challenges and exciting changes to the industry, allowing us to customize our services to meet the specific needs of our clients. Our staff is amazing and has a vast amount of diverse experience. Plus, we have a fun workplace! Laughter can often be heard throughout the day, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but here!

Where do you see this industry in five years?

I believe the industry will continue to develop new energy solutions and become more streamlined with the use of technology. We have positioned ourselves to partner together with our clients to be on the leading edge of accounting software and new technology. It is a time for new solutions and ideas, and we’re excited to play a part in our clients’ success.
