At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm, and while professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today we’d like to introduce Wendi Lightfoot, one of our private client specialists. We sat down with her to ask a few questions and get to know her a little better…

Where is your favorite place you have lived so far? Tell me about it!

I lived in DFW area most of my life, with excursions to Las Vegas for 7 years, Kunsan, Korea for one year, and Tennessee for 9 months. The last 3 areas were because of stint in the USAF for 9 years. Fort Worth will always be home!

Can you tell me about your background, both with your personal life and your career?

I was in the United States Air Force for 9 years as an Aircraft Maintenance Scheduler. This is where my OCD for organization comes from. I then joined the Department of Public Safety as a Vehicle Inspection Station monitor, and I went to several stations to ensure that correct procedures and laws were being abided. Yes, I got to write tickets and show up in court on behalf of the State of Texas, another example of my “organized OCD.”

After that, I went to technical school for Business Administration and fell into Office Manager roles for a few years. Then, I got laid off for about year and half. That was the best thing to happen, because I fell into an accounting position with a small O&G in Midland, which then led to 4 years with XTO, then my position at PetroLedger!

I became a Marmi (grandma) at the ripe ole’ age of 46 and love every minute of it. That was 9 years ago, and the boy makes me smile and laugh every day!

Some of us are always searching for the best spots to eat— which local restaurant in town would you recommend to a friend, and why?

Mexican Inn (the original locations in Fort Worth) has the BEST chips (they are like Fritos, but lighter and freshly made), and the salsa to me is the best around!

What is your specific role with PetroLedger, including your day-to-day activities?

I am a Specialist for Private Clients; day-to-day is always different for each of my clients. I do AP and Revenue, mostly which either includes downloading from EnergyLink and manipulating spreadsheets for uploading into PakEnergy (WolfePak), or manually entering that information. Bank reconciliations, depositing— it is the whole spectrum of accounting for my clients. I have completed special projects for clients that are out of the normal range, and that makes this job more interesting every day; it’s not just the same routine.

What is one thing you’ve done that you wish you could experience again for the first time?

There are many, and then there are none! First solo road trip, first plane ride, first time to hear your child or grandchild laugh and the purity of it— the list could go on. There are also many more first time experiences to come, and I am looking forward to them.
