At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm. While professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today we’d like to introduce Elise Berlin, whom many of you have likely met. We sat down with our all-around-fixer-person to get to know her a little better…
First, what is your specific role with PetroLedger Financial Services?
I am a Director of Client Success, which means I wear a lot of different hats on any given day. My primary role is to create a seamless transition for new clients. This means checking their books for accuracy (and making sure they match best practices), overseeing a conversion if they are changing software, and providing any training they might need. I also assist the Sales Team when scoping out new prospects, so our team is a major part of the onboarding journey.
What is your background experience?
I actually didn’t have much oil and gas experience before working for PetroLedger. I have a BBA in Finance from Texas State University in San Marcos, but my only job before PetroLedger was in the nonprofit sector. That said, my dad was in the oil and gas industry, so I had been exposed to it all my life.
What is the most satisfying aspect of providing outsourcing services to oil and gas customers?
One of the most satisfying parts of my job is that I am solving problems. New clients may come to us with their books in an absolute mess, and I get to track down what a line item should have been from three years ago. It’s very rewarding to see the before and after, and the sense of relief in the client’s face. I enjoy accounting, and I found the perfect job in the industry where I can be client-facing and no two days look exactly the same.
