Meet the Team: Joey Falls

At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm, and while professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today we’d like to introduce Joey Falls, PetroLedger's Senior Manager of Private Clients. We sat down with him to ask a few questions and get to know him a little better…

Can you tell me about your background?

I began my career in the oil & gas industry as I finished my Bachelor's Degree in Finance & Accounting back in 2007. I started as an intern with Exco Resources working in the AP department, and soon after, I worked in property accounting. In 2011, I received my CPA certification, while gaining foundational experience in the oil & gas industry. At Magnum Hunter Resources, I continued my career as a senior accountant, doing both property and revenue accounting from 2012 until 2015.

I first got into management in 2015, working for a mineral interest company, Halff Energy, as the accounting manager of multiple owner interest accounts. My management experience in O&G continued as the controller for Maguire Oil Company, a non-operator with both working and override interests where I managed and oversaw their accounting for over 5 years. I also have an awesome family, and I am a father of three boys.

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?

If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, it would have to be St. Thomas, which is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Are there any outdoor activities you want to try someday?

I'd love to go on a camping trip and take a really long hike in the mountains.

What is your specific role with PetroLedger, including your day-to-day activities?

I am the Senior Manager Private Clients for PetroLedger Financial Services. I manage a great team that works on private client accounting and bookkeeping. Every day, we do our best to provide good quality service to clients.

If you could eliminate one food so no one could ever eat it again, what would you get rid of?

Anchovies. They are just gross.
